Fresh off the back of his nail-biting appearance on Dragon’s Den, cheesecake wizard Joe Moruzzi has announced news of imminent expansion and the release of his debut recipe book – Pleesecakes - published by Quadrille available in hardback and e-book from the 18th October 2018.
The painter-decorator turned cheesecake connoisseur, Joe won over the Dragons on Sunday with his fresh approach to cheesecakes, inventive toppings and out-of-this-world flavour combinations, securing an offer from Touker Suleyman. Since filming, Joe and business partner Brendon Parry have not looked back, securing their first book deal and funding for future development and expansion.
Since hanging-up his paint-splattered overalls in January 2017, Joe has sold over 20,000 cakes. He supplies Selfridges bakery with an exclusive range of mini-cakes and has had pop-ups at a range of events and festivals including Taste of London, Arcadia Group and New Look. Joe also has an ever-growing list of celebrity fans – turning the heads of Dame Kelly Holmes, Mark Cavendish, Joe Wicks, Emma Willis and even Her Majesty the Queen herself, delivering a one-off McVitie’s Pleesecake to Clarence House in time for the Queen’s birthday.
Available from the 18th October, Pleesecakes is a dessert book like no other: these are cheesecakes with personality, fuelled by passion, experimentation and good hard graft. Sweet or savoury, naughty or nice, the 60 incredible recipes are delectable, cool and fuss-free. On a mission to turn all their foodie favourites into cheesecake sensations, Joe & Brendon even include recipes for breakfast, savoury and healthy(ish!) cakes and shakes, alongside their classic and celebration stunners.
This is just the beginning for Joe – who later this month will be selling his mouth-watering cakes through More Café outlets in Dubai, and there’s much more in the pipeline to follow in 2019.
